Managing residual emissions during critical operations such as scrap charging, pouring, and the addition of materials to an AOD furnace is a significant challenge. Even with a primary fume extraction system (FES) in place, some fumes escape, forming a cloud near the shed's roof. To address this issue, our Secondary Fume Extraction System is engineered to efficiently capture and control these fugitive emissions.
The system features strategically installed hoods across the shed's roof, equipped with automated dampers. These dampers can be operated manually from the furnace platform or programmed to detect fumes and open automatically. Once activated, they channel the fumes to a robust air pollution control system—such as a pulse jet bag filter or conventional bag filter. After undergoing advanced filtration, the treated air is discharged safely into the atmosphere via an ID fan and a chimney or stack. This setup ensures that emissions are minimized to meet stringent environmental standards, achieving levels as low as 2 mg/Nm³, depending on local regulations.
Ensures compliance with strict emission norms.
Built to endure demanding industrial environments.
Capable of capturing various particulate sizes.
Provides a sustainable and economical approach to air quality management.
